Question by *Sawyer’s Mommy*: Getting rid of headaches and migraines during pregnancy?
I’m 20 weeks and my migraines just started happening. Most of them are due to my back and neck hurting but sometimes they hurt so bad that they make me sick.
I’m allowed tylenol but it’s honestly not strong enough for me.
Anyone have any tips that helped your headaches during pregnancy?
thanks!

i was put on fiorecet by my obgyn i had horrible migraines , and was given that its an extra strength tylenol/caffeine /something else cant remeber , but its specifiically for migraines , and oh my gosh they are awesome , i had migraines bad in my first pregnancy , ask your obgyn about it , they are for pregnant women to take so its safe , and its safe otherwise my ob would not have prescribed it to me .
I am pregnant again 4 weeks , and hoping i dont get them this time but if i do i know what to use , for relief . Good luck and call your obgyn or a nurse there .
Also i took them all the way to the end when needed and i had a healthy 6 pound 3oz 18/3/4 inch baby girl and she is 6 months and doing fine .Im pregnant with our second now and will take them again if needed .

As a massage therapist, I would recommend massage therapy. If you are comfortable with it, chiropractic care can also help, but some people aren’t, especially during pregnancy, but massage therapy is very practical and, as a bonus, no side effects from drugs! If you are interested in massage therapy, make sure you find someone who is certified in prenatal massage. Some therapists aren’t comfortable with first trimester massage, but you are already past that, so no worries. I would recommend finding someone who uses a prego pillow (see sources or search “prego pillow”) rather than a plain bolstering system, because the prego pillow takes a great deal of stress off of your back, but whichever is comfortable for you.
Oh, just one thing about the answer above mine. Fiorecet has not been specifically approved for use during pregnancy. It has a pregnancy categorization of either C or D, depending on the source, mostly because it doesn’t just contain caffeine and acetaminophen — it also contains butalbital, which is a barbiturate. According to Drugs.com, it is FDA Preg Cat C, which indicates adverse effects on animal fetuses, but no reliable human studies have been performed. It does not mean it will hurt a fetus, but barbiturates readily cross the placental barrier and are potentially addictive. If it works, it works, but as for myself, I would be careful. And please read the info on fioricet if you are considering taking it.
